Saturday Morning Rock Out!

Buster's band is called the Smoke Bears. His stage name is Rock Pirate. Here he is mingling with the crowd before his first show. Note how easily he mixes with the rabble.

The first band -- Disco Pirates Online ... Rock! -- plays its song, "Mountain Danger Snowy Mountain."

At this point, there should be a video of the Smoke Bears playing their song "Japanese Wars," but this Web site has not been able to secure the rights. Protracted negotiations are ongoing, lawyers have been hired, accusations of selling out have been flung, etc. etc. You've changed, man. Anyway, we're working on it. In the meantime, here is Susan just after having scored a treasure that will no doubt end up at the Smithsonian: Buster's first autograph, scribbled insouciantly on a lyric sheet.

After the show, the doors opened and the crowd spilled out onto Folsom Street, still bopping, spreading the magic of the Disco Pirates Online ... Rock! and the Smoke Bears far and wide. Or at least about halfway from 17th Street to 18th.
