Dayover

These are Mousy Laffy Taffy Jr.'s cousins. Theyr'e having a dayover. Do you know what a dayover is?
When you spend the day at someone's house?
Excuse me. You interrupted me.
I'm sorry.
A dayover is when you go to someone's house and stay there for the whole day, and spend the whole day there.
Like you did at Matty's.
No, I didn't have a dayover. I didn't stay the whole day. A dayover is when you stay the whole day, till it's dark. Almost dark. Kind of gray.
That's called dusk, or twilight, when it's almost dark.
Yeah. When you just stay over for like a half hour or something, that's called a medium-over.

Man attacked at dragon-boat races

Granddogs

Hi Granddog. I called her [Daisy] granddog.
What's a granddog?
When you don't have a grandma or a grandpa, you have a granddog.
Oh. Is it a real dog?
Yeah.
I don't have a grandma or a grandpa anymore and I don't have a granddog.
Well, you can buy one.
Oh, I see.
With the money I gave you.*
That's a good idea.
Mommy's going to lose the money I gave her.
Why do you say that?
Because she left it downstairs.

* Buster did give me money, about a dollar from the collection of coins he keeps in his Batman canister. I put it back.**

** OK, I didn't.

Dogsaver Superhero

Day-Rod

Hi

Daisy: Hi Buster!

Daisy: Hi Buster!
Buster, say hi to Daisy when she says hi to you.

Daisy: Hi Buster!
Buster: Hi Daisy.
Daisy: Hi Buster!
Buster: Hi Daisy. OK, Daisy, that's enough saying hi.
Daisy: Hi Buster!
Daisy, Buster said that's enough. You can say hi to me if you want.

Daisy: [Long deliberation]

Daisy: Hi me!

Milk

In case you were wondering, here is the answer to the question "Would Daisy enjoy feeding a bottle of milk to a little goat at the petting zoo at Grant's Farm?"

No.

See that guy waving his hat in the middle of the river? That's Lewis. Or Clark. The other guy's underwater. They're usually on the bank.

Nats 5, Cards 4

Together We Can's night at the ballpark. TWCers turned TWC big brothers Matthew and Buster settle in pregame with some handy lap. Buster had a great time spotting his favorite player, Albert Pujols -- also Matty's favorite -- but Albert was responsible for the fun coming to an end for Buster. Bad Albert! He hit a home run, which made fireworks happen, and the fireworks were too loud for Buster. The rest of the evening, which wasn't much of it, was spent with Buster's hands over his ears. Here's a great shot of two of the cutest kids you'll ever want to meet, Kaitlyn and Brady.

Included here because in the backround, exiting stage left, is Buster, hands over his ears. We lasted about five innings, but then Buster found a good play spot underneath a stairway, which allowed lapguy to enjoy two more innings and one beer. Photos by Matthew's mom, Susan.

Lindsey

There are better things in life than playing with Lindsey at Grandma Ann's house. It's just that nobody knows what they are.

The smallest lap in the world

Has a kind of Dorothea Lange quality to it, don't you think? Well, if you kind of ignore the red polka-dot couch and lime-green wall. And also: Everything else except Daisy's expression.

Pa-pa Wiggies!

The single most uttered phrase in our household. Daisy went through a Wiggles phase a few months ago. From the moment she woke up or walked into the house, she would run for the remote, hand it to the nearest parent, and yell, "Wiggies! Wiggies!" (Note: The remote in her hand in this photo is not the actual remote, and may in fact be an old cell phone.)

Meanwhile, Buster has this DVD called "Potty Power," recommended to us as a strategic infotainment device to curry enthusiasm for a certain learning experience. It had no real effect on Buster, but Daisy fell in love with it. Because she thinks "Wiggies" means "TV show," she started calling it "Wiggies," and then after a few days "Potty Power Wiggies," which comes out as Pa-pa Wiggies.

Dad is beyond resistence here, the songs on an endless loop in his head. No more diapers for me/Gonna use the potty gonna give it a try ...

The good news: Dad is now extremely enthusiastic about using the potty. He's got potty power!

Do you remember what you were doing here?
Yes. I was acting like Superman.

I made up a song, want to hear it?

Yes.

I am Buzz Lightyear, I am Buzz Lightyear
That can spin and fly, spin and fly
All day long along, all day long along
Space space space, space space space

Where is Woody doll, where is Woody doll
Here I am, here I am
Howdy howdy howdy, howdy howdy howdy
Run away, run away

Where is the chicken man, where is the chicken man
Hrr hrr-ha-hrr, hrr hrr-ha-hrr
Here I am, here I am
Here I am, thank you
Run away, run away

Ask him to sing it again and it's exactly the same
